Diversity Equity Inclusion Belonging and Accessibility - Professional Development (DEIBA-PD) Subgroup
This subgroup of the Early Intervention-Early Childhood Professional Development Community of Practice (EI-EC PD CoP) formed in an effort to better understand what we can do as individuals and leaders in the field to ensure Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Accessibility (DEIBA) within the PD offerings we develop and host within early intervention and early childhood special education.
NOTE: Currently, this subgroup is NOT formally affiliated with the Division for Early Childhood (DEC). However, we are making every effort to stay informed as to the work happening within DEC around Inclusion Equity and Social Justice (IESJ) and have communicated our shared interests with the Executive Office. Additionally, as the EI-EC PD CoP explores a possible transition into a “rebooted” DEC PD CoP, and as DEC evolves with its IESJ efforts, we are open to exploring future opportunities for our work to be connected to DEC in a more formal manner. In the meantime, we want to get to work and see how we can support one another in our shared efforts to do different and do better within our PD offerings.
